How do I assign categories to my products?
In the app admin panel (/app/categories) you'll find the "Category Mapper". Map your Shopify Product Types to our 30 predefined HS categories.
Example:
Your Shopify Product Type: Electronics
Map to: Electronics - Smartphones (HS 8517.13, 0%)
What if my product doesn't fit any of the 30 categories?
If you can't find a suitable category for your product, please contact us. We'll help you determine the correct HS classification or consider adding new categories based on demand.

YES! The app automatically detects if the shipment value exceeds the €150 threshold.
- Under €150: No customs duty (0%), VAT + €3 fee
- Over €150: Customs duty (according to HS code), VAT + €3 fee

How do I install the widget on the product page?
The app uses Shopify App Block - the easiest installation method:
- Open Theme Customizer (Online Store → Themes → Customize)
- Go to a product page (click "Products" → select any product)
- Click "Add section" or "Add block"
- Find "Customs Calculator" (Apps section)
- Drag the widget below the "Add to Cart" button
- Click Save

🛍️ For End Customers (Buyers)
Why do I have to pay additional fees?
Since Brexit (2021), shipments from the UK to EU countries are subject to customs duties and VAT, just like shipments from outside the EU.
The calculator shows you these costs before purchase, so you're not surprised when collecting the parcel.
Are these amounts accurate?
These are estimates based on current regulations. The final amount is determined by customs authorities in your country.
In 95% of cases, the calculation matches reality (±€2 difference).
What is the €3 fee?
This is a flat customs handling fee introduced from July 2026. It applies to all shipments from the UK to the EU, regardless of value.

Where do you get customs rate data?
We use official sources:
- VAT rates: European Commission
- Customs duties: UK Trade Tariff
- HS Codes: TARIC Database
How often do you update rates?
VAT and customs rates are updated quarterly (every 3 months).
Does the app work with theme X?
YES! The app uses Shopify App Block, which works with any theme (OS 2.0+). No Liquid code editing required.
